Not every book has to push the boundaries. The people from the White House didn't want the story printed so they had an important talk with Darby and Gray saying a lot of things that anybody could know, but Gray recorded everything and they could use the information to developed more information in the press; Darby made an arrangement with the people from the White House and she went to spent the rest of her day to Virgin Islands.

Pakula, who directed and penned the script from Grisham's novel, has a number of important movies to his directorial credit including All the President's Men 1976 and Sophie's Choice 1982 , and some as a producer, most notably the celebrated To Kill a Mockingbird 1962. I've never watched the movie, but now I must see it. He thought that people were following him. I had a hard time keeping up with who got killed and what their relationship to the plot was.
Having travelled in the Pantanal myself admittedly not in the wet season I don't recognise it as being quite as wild and terrifying as it is depicted here. Once the truth is finally exposed and brought out into the open, it's not terribly interesting. Tense and slowly building anticipation for whether or not they will figure it out, the final outcome of the scene may be obvious, but Pakula's tricks in eliciting this tension work phenomenally well and create a scene that really stands out as a highlight. Due to its lack of onscreen violence, sex or nudity, the film is a good choice for families who like political thrillers with a minimum of adults-only features. Further, it takes so long for us to actually discover what was written in the eponymous brief and for the leads to meet and agree to take action, that the audience's desire to get to the bottom of the 'mystery' is definitely lessened. Shortly after, a bomb, intended for Darby, is placed on Callahan's car while the two are in a restaurant. When you look past this flick's slim thrills and its laughable message, nothing left makes sense. Alone and frightened, Darby disappears.
